NZsnowboard.com Newsweek Episode 16

NZsnowboard.com Newsweek Episode 16

Last week we ticked off NZsnowboard.com Newsweek at Winnies in Queenstown. What more could you want after a day of shredding? Pizza, Beer, Pool and Buck Hunter. Winnies is choice, go check it out! The episode features a whole bunch interesting features including the best pipe riding I've ever witnessed at the FIS World Cup, Bro Down slang, and 50 frame Deer shooting, and golden words from the one and only Karl Dunhams Mouth.

Flow Bikes/Ben Finney.

Caleb Smith just popped this through, Ben Finney has been ripping in the UK during our winter, and seems to have bagged a flow bikes ad straight outa MBUK. Yeahhhh boy.

FIS World Cup Half Pipe

The F.I.S WorldCup pipe finals happened at Cardrona on Sunday, and I can definitely say it was the best pipe riding I've seen in my life. John Melville has shaped a 22 foot beast, with a steep enough pitch to the let boys go as big as they want. I'm working on a promo Vid for Johns company ( Development SnowParks ) which we will be releasing further down the line. I've got a bunch of footy for this weeks newsweek which will be online on Friday, check that! for now heres some sneak peaks.

Kohei Kudoh, one of the Samurai Seven won the event, check this Method for some bone!

Although the conditions were far from ideal, that didnt stop 14-16 foot airs, out of the 22 foot walls.

Getting ready to film Prize Giving, The national anthem was played for the winning country, and flags were hoisted for 1st/2nd/3rd. Good to see an event with some prestiege. The medals were dope too!

Manual # 31

Manual Magazine # 31 - Amazing.

The 31st issue of Manual Magazine has just hit the shelves, and all I can say is go get your self a copy. Manual is with out a doubt New Zealands best Snow/Skate Mag, and I'm always stoked to pick it up. Although I've been more than busy with my video work this year, I popped a few stills at the same time as filming and got a few pieces in as follows.

Heres a sneak peak of the Snow Park Secrets Article I did, something a little different.. This idea spawned raipidly whilst filming the Snow Park Secrets MDTV episode.

Another sneak peak, I got a couple of shots in the Gallery. Heres one of the heaviest of the year, Stef Zeestraten sending a sizey cliff at Cardrona. We will be back to film this spot.

MDTV Episode 17 - Mountain Dew Night Sessions Final

Mountain Dew Ambassador/ NZsnowboard.com Director Robett Hollis rolling the Intro for MDTV Episode 17

This has been a highly anticipated event in my mind for quite some time. What happens when you throw 9 grand at some snowboarders to slide a rail and some ledges? All sorts of unseen crazy stuff!

The Mountain Dew night sessions have been happening all year, and it was impressing me how much people had been throwing down on the very burly Snow Park Stair Set. It seemed at the start of the season it was legit to just board slide the rail, different story now. I'm interested to whats going to un fold on this stair set in the future.

Anyway, check out the episode. And a huge thanks to our very generous sponsor Mountain Dew, without them MDTV wouldn't be alive, and people would have less motivation to push themselves in New Zealand Snowboarding.
