Lismore Park Portrait Shoot.

I dusted off the still camera for a change today, and shot some portraits for Spoke Magazine. An article is being written on the new Lismore Mountainbike Park in Wanaka, for the next issue. This should be fully cranking by summer, and is definitely one of the best parks in New Zealand, more on this as it develops.

Behind the Scenes of the shoot. Jules Thompson, on form!

The Prime Minister

On Friday last week, we managed to have the pleasure of meeting Helen Clark, and interviewing her, whilst she was up Cardrona.

Interviewer Bevan Hall managed to charm the leader of our country, and we got quite a few good voice grabs. Her speech was captivating, and its rad that she supports Snow Sports in New Zealand.

So we sipped on bubbles, ate funny little nibble things, and lived the dream for another day. Robett & I got a photo bro'ing down with Aunty Helen, hopefully it will hit the news stand soon. Helen will make an appearance in Newsweek Episode 6.

Pow PHO-TOG Gloves.

Jason at Freeride Distribution just hooked me up some of the new Pow PHO-TOG gloves. I've just unwrapped them, and let them grasp my palms.

Putting up with cold conditions is one of the hardest things of being a snow photo/filmer. When your hands are cold, they shut down, which makes operating a camera extremely hard. These gloves here have removeable thumb, index and middle finger tips which look pretty snaz, along with being nice and grippy for handling cameras. They fold back and buckle down, so you can still keep the rest of your hand warm, and then slip back into the glove.. They look pretty thin, but there pretty tight and warm. I'll see how they go in the field and post up a little review...

Freeride Distribution also handles alot of other rad brands, so get over to there website and have a look - www.freeridedistribution.com

They even have little photos of cameras on the palms...

How they fold back.. shralping the key board.

Southern Freeriders Farm Jam 07 Pics...

This is probably the biggest post in this blogs history, almost 40 images all up. I've been meaning to do this for a while, but my workloads been pretty rediculous. Bring on a Sunday Morning, cup of coffee, and no hang over for some serious photo editing.

All of these images are 'left overs' from the Southern Freeriders Frew Farm Jam 07. I'd forgotten how ridiculous this competition was. I was running around like crazy trying to shoot all this as it went down, the level of riding was un heard of in NZ. Huge props to everyone who was throwing down.

Brett & Dan are working on the Farm Jam 08, its gonna be HUGE! More on this as it unravels.

Cardrona Hip October 2007

Last year we shot one of the biggest hips/tables built in New Zealand History, at Cardrona during the epic October that unfolded. This was all thanks to John Melville, it was one of the sickest things ever seen in NZ.

I was shooting stills which popped up in a few places, & Jase Hancox was shooting video. He has put together a video of Jossi and a couple of shots of Will/Abby hitting the mammoth beast over at NZskier.com - Go check it out!
