Tim Hales Shredathon Video brought to you by Demon Energy.

I've just finished putting together a video from the 2008 Tim Hales Shredathon held in Wanaka New Zealand. The video is just under 7 minutes and features footage from the competition and a session the day before. Despite the wind it was an amazing event with a great turn out, look out for an article in RebelYell BMX magazine. Spread the video far and wide! Brought to you by the very generous sponsor of the event Demon Energy, go get some - www.demonenergy.co.nz

Cardrona Cutter 6.4 Video

The Cardrona Cutter 6.4, John Melvilles 22 foot Pipe shaping creation.

Earlier this year I got approached by John Melville of Development Snowparks, to create a DVD documenting exactly how his pipe shaper works. The Cardrona Cutter 6.4, is a 22 foot pipe shaper than John Melville designed to cut a World Cup Pipe at Cardrona. It is one of only two 22 foot pipe shapers in the world.

When we set out to create this, we both under estimated how much of a project it would be. I got an ear and chest infection on the second day shooting, my still camera decided that it didn't want to work in the cold, and then in post production my PC threw its toys - none the less its all done, and the end result is very rewarding. Hopefully you can now appreciate how much work goes into building a perfect pipe.

Its up at both developmentsnowparks.com and NZsnowboard.com go check it.

Isnap of the week.

Not that this will ever become a regular thing, I just wanted an excuse to put this photo up. Probably the highlight of my week, Winnies pizza for life.

Ben Finney Joins Quiet Chaos

It is with great pleasure that I can say Ben Finney is now rolling Quiet Chaos clothing, and may very well be seen in some tight jeans in the near future. I've been working with Ben for TakeOne over the last few weeks and we're starting to tick up a few shots for his part. There will also be a few photos of Ben popping up in Revolutions next issue.

North Face Heli Trip Video

John Thomssen from Digital Media Unit put together this vid from a Heli Trip with the Northface that I shot stills of during winter this year. It gives a good idea of what goes into a shoot, you even see me getting the shot a couple of times.

Home Time

I'll be updating the Zeros&Ones home page regularly with some sneaks whilst filming TakeOne. This is an oldy tho, Seb Kemp goes home at the old Gorge Rd.

Finding the shot

I've been in Queenstown for a couple of days doing this and that. I had a bit of a wake up call and realized that mountain biking on an actual trail is pretty dam cool. The jeans and reebok pumps may have to take a break for a second. Moss, Trees, Nature, Water, Roots, Earth all that crap is pretty dam sweet. Seb Kemp was my guide, much shit talking was thrown down.

The Skyline Cafe has hammers sandwhiches.. Cheap food thats decent, rather ironic. If you're up there do it.

Kellys trademark Barrel. Pretty sure thats a Caleb Smith photo.

I was browsing the BNQT and came accross this press release, stoked to see Kelly on an international team. As reads-

'New Zealand ripper Kelly McGarry will now be flying the Gravity Components flag. Recently-knighted Gravity marketing director Aaron Lutze got the deal done recently. Expect to see Kelly at some of the more high profile freeride events this season. Word has it that he'll be getting some print ads as well.'

Tim Hales Shredathon

Yeow! What a blast the last few days have been. The Tim Hales shredathon took place yesterday, Sat 15th at the Wanaka Skate Park. People from all over the country turned up, and despite gale force winds all day people were throwing down. Elmo Cotter took out the juniors and Mikey the Belgum ripper took out open men.

Big ups to James Keane from Trubmx for organising the event and heres to much more of this in the future. The event wouldn't have happened without the generous sponsors. Go support them! Revolutionnz, Demon, Anchor, Flybikes, Zombiebmx.com,Rebelyell and Black Lotus.

I shot a bunch of photos and video over the past few days, gotta save the goodies for the publications, and will hopefully do a web video edit somewhere down the track. Can't give the nuggets away, but heres a few unforcedlifestylehammers. WORD!

TakeOne features in The Mirror.

Sam Blenkinsop scores the cover banner image.

The first of the local media coverage has started for our up and coming bike film project 'TakeOne'. The Mirror ran a little write up about the film. Apart from getting a few details wrong inlcuding calling my production company 'Mountain Dew Television', it was straight to the point. Good to get the ball rolling.

Matt Orlea took the photo featured in the article of Sam Blenkinsop. Matt is now kicking it in Germany working in Hospitals.

In other news our TakeOne video press release spread throughout the interenet and has featured on the home pages of Dirt, Rip.TV, Vorb and more.

Stef Zeestraten Interview - Taste Magazine

Cover of Taste Magazine

A copy of Taste Magazine just turned up in the mail, with an interview that I shot on Stef Zeestraten ( aka Dutchy ). Theres three images that I have shot from the last two years with Stef, that show he is definitely not afraid to go big. Everytime I shoot with him, I usually tell him to hit something huge and he does it without any question. Stef hails from Dutchland, and has been shredding NZ pow for quite some time now. The interview compares him, and another dutch snowboarder Menno Labruyere. Its a solid mag, and I'm pretty stoked on the interview, just wish I could read it! Yeah Dutchy!

Holler Blogs

Robett 'Holler' Hollis stands in the middle of a car park.

I don't think that there is anything that this big Maori can't do. NZsnowboard.com director Robett Hollis has been putting out some choice 'Holler Blogs' on NZsnowboard recently. Bringing back the fun with fast raw cuts of fast shred dogging with the crew. All shot on a little panasonic hd cam and bought to you by the one and only Burton. Fantastic ( use this word more often)

EDH Jam Stills

The EDH Jam went down in Christchurch on November1st. I was gutted that I couldn't make it, by the looks it was a hoot. I've heard of all sorts of crazy stories most of which seem to link back to the one and only Quiet Chaos team rider Jed Mildon. I'm happy to say I'll be filming with Jed early December in the mount, so look out. Photos courtesy of RevolutionNZ and Philip Mclean.

Brad Greenslade

Earlier in the week I got a txt from Brad Greenslade, a local Queenstown resident and passionate cyclist. If you've never heard of Brad, you have now. Brad shreds BMX, and has recently picked up a mountainbike to give it a whirl.

Brad Greenslade infront of the camera for TakeOne

I must admit, when Brad mentioned he wanted to hit something decent up on a mountainbike, I was very intrigued. Further more, when he said he may not walk away, I knew it was gonna be dope! What Brad attempted was a wallride with a difference. An average run in, gusty winds, no lip, big gap on, crazy angle to wall, big drop out, and car parked on the landing.

Unfortunately not all went to plan and Brad got bucked, the result being a tweaked wrist and ravaged ass cheek, how ever it is not the last we will see of Greenslade. After a quick nip tuck on his knee, he will be back in action and infront of the camera soon. Word, everyone step up!

This is where it all went wrong, stay tuned to TakeOne to see more.

T Whites Bikes is Open

T Whites Bikes official opening

The official opening of T Whites Bikes took place on the weekend in Auckland. Looking like its a pretty dope bike shop with what will be a good selection of Fixed, BMX and MTB stuffs. Word, get over there and support!

Take 3

The last few days have been a bit of a blur. Ben Finney and I have been back and forth over the crown, drunk alot of coffee and getting some work done. Late night scoping, early morning filming, Brad Greenslade antics, ( more on this shortly) skating, more scoping and riding. Productive all round and shots in the bag for TakeOne, plus a few stills.
