'Sketchy Lines' Teaser

Dispite the disguisting name, its cool to see other people getting out there and making New Zealand Mountainbike films, and its pretty rad that this is gonna be released on the net for free. The fence slap was dope!

Stacks

Stacks from onboardfilms.co.nz

I got asked what my favourite snowboard film was the other day, this prompted something in my mind, and the ironic thing is I don't actually own many. So I'm starting my quest to own the biggest collection of DVDs ever. Got a stack from onboardfilms.co.nz , good service, go buy some.

These Days Teaser - Transworld

These Days - Transworld Snowboardings first feature film

These Days is Transworld SNOWboarding’s first feature film offering, and will hit the shelves in September 2008. These Days will showcase the snowboarding of Chad Otterstrom, Dustin Craven, Jonas Michilot, Jonas Carlson, Lucas Debari, Louif Paradis, Nick Dirks, Robbie Walker, and Tim Eddy.

It looks really good, I think theres even a sneaky shot of Koia in there. Joe Carlinoes work is rad, can't wait to see this.

Go check it out here.

McCafe

McCaf'e surpirsed me like no other. I am one for coffees, muffins and the like, what annoys me is when I don't get a good sized coffee. Large from McCaf'e hits the spot. This pic doesn't do it justice, its good like. do it.

Reason Films

Nick Hyne & Bugs film for Diaries Down Under - Reasonfilms.net

Reason films are back on the radar. After disappearing to somewhere in Australia, Bugs has just got back into town, and is working on 'Diaries Downunder' with Nick Hyne, for Transworld Snow. - twsnow.com

They've got 3 episodes of the Transworld business, and I believe Bugs is covering some other stuff for the Remarks comps etc.. Bloody good to see. There work is good> Will link it up when it hits the web.

There website is also being updated regularly now, good stuff happening, so go check it out yeah!

Stills!

I shot my first stills of the New Zealand Season yesterday, something which was well over due, and was rad to get back to the roots rather than all business with the vid cam. Also got to do a bunch of turns at park, and some real fun night riding with the one and only Bevan Michael Hall.

I've wanted to shoot this rock for ages, but Vernon Deck bet me to it last year... We set it up all ghetto and had a fun little session on it. Spencer Falls was trying a hand plant to fakie which never came through, and Alex Harper got a rad Noseblock tindy to fakie thing...

Setting up the Rock...

Spencer Falls almost getting a Handplant to Fakie, but no cigar.

After the rock was done, Bevan Hall and I shot this rad little bump, and got an oh so steezy stale.

MDTV ep8 - Remarks Stash Opening

MDTV Episode 8, Remarkables Stash Opening.

Saturday saw the opening of the Remarkables Stash. Theres been a hell of a lot of hype up around the Stash and certainly didn't disappoint. For those of you who don't know, The Stash is a Burton Project, and this is the 3rd 'stash' in the world to be created. They are terrain parks that use all natural materials, and include really unique features. I went over to film MDTV and knocked out Episode 8 over at NZsnowboard.com. Heaps of highlights including Shelly Gotlieb and Callie Congahan killing it, Spencer Rodeoing off the up log, Robett getting all steezy with Blotto, and all sorts. The weather packed in so we didn't get to shoot too much of it, but never fear, I'll be back there soon. So go get it!

Skate Boarding...

Had an afternoon off the mountain on Thursday, and hadn't shot stills in months, so was itching to go do something different. Just mucked around with local ripper Beech Therlow Meyer, and warmed into shooting some skating.
Beech and I, Wanaka Water Front.

Grey Day Smith, Wanaka Lake Front.

Beech impressed me with this line. So dope, off the container onto the blue dumpster then drop... Got a rad Ollie but will be back to re shoot properly. I also wanna film with Beech a bit, so hopefully you'll see that soon.

Missions

Me paddling accross the meg.. Dutchy took the tester and got wet.

The past few days have been pretty hectic, I've been in Queenstown more than Wanaka and everywhere inbetween. On Friday myself and Stef Zeestraten ventured out into the Pisa range to a spot I found a few years back. It was a refreshing change from the same old shit, and we ended up hiking out and building a quarter/stall thing. Not really too sure how its gonna work out, but its in a dope location with the roaring meg winding away in the background. ( all Photos Dutchy, chur! ) Next clear day before the Open and hopefully we'll get the shot. Other news is I've been at the stash opening and all sorts, updates on that very shortly.

Our Creation, way the hell in the middle of no where.

Me riding out, we will be back to get the shot once shes set!

Go Fast Energy Drink

Sh*t the bed. This stuff shouldnt be legal. I just got my hands on a can of Go Fast Energy drink. I'm an avid coffee fan as in times of such hard wallowing I'm often in a need of a pick me up. Go Fast makes Redbull taste like water, and after a night sniffing round Queenstown last night this has got me back in condition to create memories . www.gofastsports.co.nz

MDTV Episode 7 Cardrona Games Big Air.

MDTV Episode 7, Cardrona Games Big Air

Over Thursday and Friday last week the Relentless Cardrona Games took place at Cardrona. The games included FMX, Sled Jumping and a Ski/Snowboard big air.

Over summer John Melville directed some large earthworks, the result being a big air site, and a new 22 foot half pipe.

The general feedback was pretty positive, its always hard to impress everyone. It was the first decent jump anyone had hit this season, so everyone had a few teething problems.

The competition could have been run alot better, but there was some serious prize money thrown down, and it was a rad night time big air. Huge props to Andrew Kennerly, some of the most stylish riding I've seen in a while. Will be interesting to see how the Billabong Snow Stock Compares. Anyway, check the episode!

NZsnowboard.com Newsweek Episode8

NZsnowboard.com Newsweek Episode 8.

We ventured over to the Remarkables on Wednesday to film NZsnowboard.com Newsweek Episode 8. The first round of the Cadbury Moro Slopestyle series was on, and it was a pearla of a day. Hyner and I had a bit of fun riding around with the reporter mic and playing billy suggers. Turned out that he won it, and we got the intro after a follow cam of his winning run. Hammers.

Got any feedback/suggestions for Newsweek? Hit me.

MDTV Episode 6.

MDTV Episode 6, Hammers!

Sunday sore me nursing a slight hang over, and banging on Will Js door for about ten minutes to get him out of bed. An hour later, and a Lockhart espresso and we were on the road to blue bird and a nice coat of fresh.

We went to Cardrona for round two of the front country. We had unfinished business from episode 5 to take care of. The snow was pretty epic for early season, but there was the massive school holiday crowds. Instead of standing in lift lines, we shuttled the front country and got down to business. The result being tonnes of face shots, drops, ollys, a cornice session, and to tie things up, a jib on some containers.

Hope you all enjoy, go check it out.

Transworld BMX Cover

The latest Transworld BMX cover is rad.

MDTV Episode 4 - Winter Wonderland.

So it all came about last Saturday, we woke up to a sprinkle of snow on Wanaka, and got the call from over the dark side of the Crown Range. The snow had nuked Aarowtown and the call was made to get on the road. About 15cms of snow found its way into that little corner.

I kind of took a diary approach to this, and just tryed to get all the excitement the snow bought. People were getting crap loads of air everywhere, and a new rail got christened/broken, along with hedge jibbing and other crazy carry on. It was a flip spin great day, with so much happening everywhere. Definately hammers episode. Check it out
